Gimp-painter 2.7 compilation
12.04 based system, do it at your own risk
First remove all Gimp 2.6 of your system with your package manager. Then, follow this ( enter lines in color in terminal one by one )
first, dependencies :
sudo apt-get build-dep gimp
sudo apt-get install cvs subversion git-core mercurial
sudo apt-get install libavformat-dev libavcodec-dev valac-0.16 graphviz ruby1.9.1-dev liblua5.1-0-dev
sudo apt-get install libopenexr-dev libopenraw-dev libexiv2-dev libsdl1.2-dev libgs-dev libjasper-dev
sudo apt-get install checkinstall
folder creation ( for build ):
cd /opt
sudo mkdir gimp-painter-2.7/
sudo chmod -R 777 gimp-painter-2.7/
prefix :
export PATH=/opt/gimp-painter-2.7/bin:$PATH
export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/opt/gimp-painter-2.7/lib/pkgconfig
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/gimp-painter-2.7/lib
folder creation ( for source ) :
cd
mkdir sources
cd sources
mkdir gimp-painter-2.7
cd gimp-painter-2.7
Last Babl :
git clone --depth 1 git://git.gnome.org/babl && cd babl
./autogen.sh --prefix=/opt/gimp-painter-2.7
make -j8 && sudo make install -j8 && cd ..
Last Gegl :
git clone --depth 1 git://git.gnome.org/gegl && cd gegl
./autogen.sh --prefix=/opt/gimp-painter-2.7 --disable-gtk-doc --without-libavformat
make -j8 && sudo make install -j8 && cd ..
Gimp-painter 2.7dev :
git clone --depth 1 git://git.sourceforge.jp/gitroot/gimp-painter/gimp-painter-2.7.git && cd gimp-painter-2.7
./autogen.sh --prefix=/opt/gimp-painter-2.7 --disable-gtk-doc
make -j8 && sudo make install -j8 && cd ..
done, if you want to make yourself a launcher :
sudo ln /opt/gimp-painter-2.7/bin/gimp-2.8 /usr/bin/gimp-painter
then in your launcher (Alt+F2 , or in a terminal ) enter
gimp-painter
to execute it.
