Study of the GoToSocial mascot

Character study of the GoToSocial sloth, a future new member, when I'll be drawing the group of mascots of the Fediverse.

@Anna really lovely to see this work David! Would love to see Lemmy and PixelFred hang out with the Sloth

@liaizon Hey, Lemmy's license is what I could guess GNU Afero, along github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-ui/b file (used on the README). But each time I used Lemmy, I had comments about controversies about Lemmy's creators. So far, no report about the accusations on en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lemmy_(s, so hard to know what's true or not. I prefer to not touch at the moment and let time clarify.

For PixelFred, I haven't found a clear license so far, all I have is github.com/pixelfed/brand-asse , and nothing is mentioned.

Hey @dansup would you mind giving us a clarification or adding a license to the pixelfred mascot? would be great to get take on it interacting with the rest of the fediverse friends!

@Anna You could perhaps do one for #Epicyon. Anything wolf or prehistoric dog related.

The sloth is adorable! 💚 May I please add the picture with the appropriate information (author, license) to this repository harvesting Fedi mascot artwork? codeberg.org/fediverse/distrib

It will be very kind if you include Friendica mascot Flaxy O'Hare in your Fedi mascots drawing 🐰

@lightone Sure! No problem. I put them under CC for being reused. 💜

Thank you for showing me the Friendica mascot. Do you know where I can find out about its license?

link lostinlight   - Reply
lightone@mastodon.xyz

Flaxy O'Hare is licensed as CC0. It was perhaps a bit unwise to license it so freely, but I hope it will remain in use only by Friendica project. :)

@lightone It's usually Ok for mascots. I found the source page wiki.friendi.ca/about/flaxy , and I'll try to credit creator @lightone , unless she prefer no 🙂 (let me know Lightone)

@lightone lol, Ijust got my two neurons connected re-reading the discussion and realising it is you the creator. 😆

Yes, it's me 😳 My only wish is for this mascot to help spread the word about Friendica, so I care less about credits. If credits are present, it's great; if there's no place for them, no problem too! :)
