Blend&Paint and Blenderella Dvd issue
The team at Blender Institute confirmed this afternoon a technical problem in
all last DVD printed Blend&Paint DVD 7 as well as Blenderella DVD 6. The
problem only happen on Microsoft Windows system.
For Linux users and Apple users , it's ok...
What's the problem ? Shorten 8.3 filenames on Windows, using capitals letters ( like on MS-Dos ). This affect and make unusable the html DVD menu, links, and some other resources on the DVD. The great news is you can still play and watch the videos in the "videos" folder, and this is the main content of the DVD. But it's still annoying ... so to solve this, the Blender Institute team work actually on 2 solutions :
- First immediate solution : a menu to download here and unzip on your disk working with the DVD
2.Second ; a fixed print of the DVD, and proposition to send it to any customer who requests by email ( for this reply to order confirmation email).
I hope you will still enjoy it , and I express here ( as well as the poeple working at the Blender Institute ) apologies for the issue. Official support blog post here, dont miss the 'Erratum' chapter.
PS : Thanks to John C Brown to warn me with a comment here and being the first to 'bug report'

I received my Blend&Paint DVD today and can confirm the problem with Windows XP.
Some kind of patch would be nice, but as it is possible to watch the videos I am looking forward to my weekend. :-)
Dear David, thanks a lot for your enormous efforts in digital painting with open-source software. You are such a great inspiration and motivation! Merci beaucoup!
Thanks a lot Artbottle for your kind words even if you got the issue. Venomgfx ( Pablo ) is still working on the patch, and Ton is actually prepare all the new files for reprintings new fixed DVDs. Hope you will like the videos and feel ready to create complex digital painting with amazing perspectives and design!
Merci for the feedback !
I receive my DVD Today, and I downloaded zip file. But still Wrong link in it. In video chapter, '12 - Mypaint' links to 'WIPMI00*.MP4'.
@xzr : Thanks Xzr for the report, I fixed it here in a custom hosted link for this post / article ; http://david.revoy.free.fr/forums/support/blendnpaint_html_for_windows.zip , but I can't update the link from the Blender Institute server, I send them an email with the fix to do.
For information :
* The link is not set at line 223 of html/02-videos.html , here under the right video, to fix it manualy , open in a text editor and change the line 228 with :
<div class="videobox"><a href="../VIDEOS/WIPMI008.MP4">
