@raghukamath Thank you, first time I use a "hard light" shading layer on top of my line-art; I usually put it under but during this study I found I could do cool effect if this one goes on top. I still try to find a right middle between a classic coloring comic workflow and a more painterly advanced shading; the quest of a life π .
@elly Thank you, this is the part of the study that I trained on: digital inking. So I colored one to see how this new style of inking affects my coloring. Here is the same canvas with only the inking (I added a bit of hard shadows on the center one).
love those line art... hey been meaning to ask you, i recall seeing a tutorial or maybe Sintel documentary Long long back :D that time you did using gimp right? do you use it or switch over to krita completly?
Absolutely beautiful <3 I love your art style so much! It's well balanced yet packed with so much detail! Each zooming in experience is a delight as always!
I must ask, I became a fan after discovering the Pepper & Carrot webcomic last year and I've been waiting *patiently* for a new episode to drop, how's that coming along so far? Best of luck with it btw!
For the next Pepper&Carrot episode, I'm working on it; the scenario is done for the 4 next episodes and right now I'm working ont he panel cut and storyboard. Once I start the production, it will take a month and half (maybe more). And yes: since the last episode I struggled a lot, that's why the pause is so long. More details about all is on my blog, I try to log all the journey for my supporters.
ooh I see, good to know it's mostly done! Best of luck with it. As always, no rush, take your time. I'm sure it'll be worth the wait and I'm sure you'll deliver something fantastic as always <3 It's sad to hear that you struggled, I hope you're doing okay and everything's going good for you! Please, take care of yourself! I read your blog time to time but I haven't read it lately. I'll be sure to change that!

(though the face feels a little too flat; but I guess it looks different on a fully drawn page)
EDIT: page β face

@Fakepivot Thank you! Yes, at the time of Sintel, it was a mix of Gimp-painter (a fork of Gimp 2.6) and Mypaint. Good memory π
Krita wasn't ready at that time, but I met the team and a few time later and a lot of work I could switch to it full time in start 2012. I published this blog post at that time https://www.davidrevoy.com/article114/krita-project-an-old-challenge-won-2-4-very-soon
